Where are we on our Journey?

  • 4/28/2010 - Phone call of our Approval!  Happy Birthday to me!
  • 5/1 to present - We have been working on our paperwork for our Dossier!
  • Completed so far:  Birth Certificates, Marriage License, Police Background Check, Passports copied, Financial Statement completed, Non-Employment letter written for me, Application letter written.
  • We have completed our online Hague Training Course.
  • Still waiting on:  Call back from our Dr's to see if they have a notary to notarize our physicals when we have them completed.
  • Still need our Referral letter's written, and many other things filled out and notarized.
  • 5/18 - Will be our 1st home study meeting with our Social Worker. Our 1st meeting was great.  Worries pushed aside :)  We now have a deadline to get all of the paperwork finished for our home study.
  • 5/20 -  I have received my police background check (got it in 1 day), Darren is still waiting on getting his back (he got it in 3 days).  We have both been making phone calls, etc. to get insurance stuff and life insurance information.
  • This morning I am going to have my physical.  It took some work to find a notary in the building that our Dr's are in.  The Dr's office wasn't going to help us out...so, we had to go on the hunt to find someone to go in and notarize the Dr's signature. I found an office that was very happy to run up to our Dr's office and notarize for "free".  Praise God.
  • I completed my Autobiography...Darren still has his to complete. - COMPLETED!
  • We are needing to give the paperwork to our friends for our reference letters.  We need to get those done and then coordinated getting them notarized.
  • Darren's Dr's apt. is scheduled for next week.
  • I still have to schedule the kid's appointments - they need a check up anyway...so we will get this completed soon.
  • Our home study is complete!
  • All of our Dr's appointment's and TB tests are complete!
  • We have all of our reference letters - only have one more to get notarized!
  • 6/19/2010 - mailed paperwork to USCIS
  • 6/23/2010 - They cashed our check...so they have our paperwork in hand!
  • Waiting to get fingerprinted...and for USCIS to do their part so we can get the form we need to mail with our dossier.
